- Prednisolone is a corticosteroid drug. No adverse effects have been reported about taking corticosteroid drugs while breastfeeding.
- A small amount of prednisolone may enter into breast milk but that amount is very unlikely to cause any harm for the infant.
- On the other hand, prednisolone is similar to some natural body hormones. These hormones are needed for breast milk production.
- Anyway, avoid breastfeeding for at least 4 hours after taking your prednisolone dose, if the dose is high. High prednosolone dose may decrease the supply of milk.
